PERMIT INFORMATION*Homeowners may pull permits for residential repairs to their property with proof of homestead. *Contractors can pull permits provided they are registered with the city.*We urge all residents to make sure their property has been inspected and a permit is in place before beginning work.*All commercial properties require an asbestos survey. *Drawing for repairs are not required, a narrative of all work will need to be submitted for permit.*Permit fees for storm related repairs have been waived.
The curfew has been lifted by the City of Port Arthur.

The landfill is open and fees are waived for City residents.Please be ready to provide some proof of residency. Open 7am-4pm daily.
Additional building inspectors have been brought in to assist with assessments and field inspections to help get people back into their homes when safe.
Municipal Court is closed until further notice.The will be NO:• Trials (by Judge or Jury)• Jury Service• Arraignments and all other hearings.• Payments due during this period are suspended.
Non-essential employees do NOT report to work for the remainder of this week.
Transit fees are being waived effective immediately. All riders are FREE!
Port Arthur has a curfew in effect from 10 pm - 6 am daily until further notice.We will inform residents when this has been lifted.You are permitted to travel for work or other official reasons.
Drivers need to be vigilant and be on the lookout for temporary street signs located throughout the City. Some stop lights may be impacted, and not functioning properly. Please, exercise caution while driving after the storm.
