The Port Arthur Fire Department Welcomes Nine New Firefighters

The City of Port Arthur Fire Department is pleased to announce the hiring of nine (9) career firefighters! The nine firefighters hired will support the department's operational needs in service to the community and reduce department overtime expenditures. These new firefighters participated in a swearing-in and welcoming ceremony at Port Arthur Station #1 as they begin their careers.

PAFD is an all-hazards response agency providing Fire Suppression, Emergency Medical Services, HazMat Response, Technical Rescue, Marine Firefighting & Public Safety Dive Rescue Services, Community Risk Reduction, and Fire/Investigation Services.  Our Fire Department responds to approximately 12,000 emergency responses annually and conducts fire inspections in over 2,100 occupancies to increase public life safety.

The nine new firefighters are all certified as Texas Commission on Protection Structural Firefighters and Texas Department of State Health Services Emergency Medical Technicians. They will complete a rigorous probationary training program to enhance their skills and function as members of an emergency services team.  The City of Port Arthur Fire Department is honored to welcome our new members and wish them a long, healthy, and enjoyable career in community service!
