The Community Development Block Grant Disaster Recovery (CDBG-DR) program allows the General Land Office to work with local leadership on long-term housing that not only helps to rebuild a community, but lessen the cost and impact of future disasters.
As recommended by Housing and Urban Development, the GLO will utilize a state-run model for the Homeowner Assistance Program (with the exception of the City of Houston and Harris County, both of which will develop and implement their own programs). All activities under this program will be conducted according to the GLO’s Housing Guidelines which outline the limitations for repairs, environmental regulations, and other rules that the General Land Office must follow in administering this program.
The Homeowner Assistance Program (HAP), sponsored by AECOM, is still available to qualified applicants. Please apply if you meet the minimum criteria for application. If you have any questions, please contact the Housing Division at 409-983-8259, or 409-983-8283.
Please refer to the Texas GLO's Hurricane Harvey – Homeowner Assistance Program Document for updates and applications in the future. Potential applicants can begin collecting documents using the Homeowner Assistance Program (HAP) Checklist.
