The city offers its deepest condolences to the family of Dr. William George, who served as Port Arthur's health authority and supervising physician for over twenty-five years, and has passed away after retiring last year.  Dr. George was appointed as the Port Arthur Health Authority by City Council on August 1, 1995; he retired from service in 2020. The Port Arthur Health Department is saddened for the family’s loss, yet very grateful for the wonderful health services provided to the City of Port Arthur Health Department and the community as a whole; Dr. George will be missed.
