[ARCHIVED] Public Health Notice: Positive COVID Cases Reach 101 for Port Arthur, Mid County- January 14, 2022

The Port Arthur Health Department is encouraging everyone to get a vaccine against COVID-19 to protect themselves and their family members at home, school, work, and play. When testing positive, please protect yourself and others.

From January 14, 2022, the City of Port Arthur Health Department is reporting COVID-19 positive individuals for Port Arthur, Groves, Nederland, and Port Neches. There are confirmations of Thirty-Eight (38) for Port Arthur; Fifteen (15) for Groves; Forty (40) for Nederland, and Eight (8) for Port Neches. The total number of positive COVID-19 cases reported is One Hundred One (101).

Who Qualifies for Monoclonal Antibody Therapy?

Monoclonal antibody therapy is available for children, aged 12 years or older that weigh at least 88 lbs (40 kg), and adults who:

  1. Have tested positive for COVID-19, and
  2. Have mild to moderate symptoms of the disease for 10 days or less, and
  3. Are at high risk of becoming seriously ill.
