The Environmental and Consumer Health Division of the Port Arthur Health Department joins the Emergency Management Division in promoting preparedness in the 2019 Hurricane Season. Are you prepared? Hurricane Preparedness-Supplies

Port Arthur witnessed unpredictable weather events in 2017, such as severe thunderstorms that brought high winds, freezing temperatures, and an unforgettably devastating flooding event. The Port Arthur Health Department Sanitarians were called out to an unusually high number of power outages and water interruptions throughout the year.

Between 2018, and the early months of 2019, citizens experienced water interruptions, slight flood events and power outages. We have been fortunate in our area to not have a major storm since Hurricane Harvey; however, that will be forever etched in our minds. Hurricane Preparedness-Warning Sign
