Port Arthur City Council met at a regularly scheduled meeting on September 12, 2023, at 9:30 AM in the 5th Floor Council Chamber. The Pledge of Allegiance was led by a student from Tekoa Academy. Business included A Public Hearing on a wrecker permit issued through the Port Arthur Police Department and a Port Arthur Streets Report by Public Works Director, Flozelle Roberts. At 1:00 PM, a Special Meeting was held endorsing Mayor Thurman Bartie as a Board Candidate for the National League of Cities (NLC).
