[ARCHIVED] The 2020 Census: We Are Counting On You! UPDATE

2020 Census Image

Census Day is April 1, 2020, and every citizen of Port Arthur will need to be counted for Southeast Texas. A Regional Census Committee attended a workshop led by Census 2020 Representatives, stressing the importance of an accurate, confidential, and complete count of every citizen. Why? Because participation assures our region a much-needed share of federal dollars allocated to our area based upon population. Port Arthur, in particular, having been hit the hardest by Hurricane Harvey, needs the products and human services, like public transportation, provided by these funds. It is equally important for our political representation--division of districts, Congressional seats, and the like--which are critical areas to our city and region.

Although the actual "count day" is in April of 2020, please be on the lookout for mailings and notices about participation. Let's count everyone--we're counting on you!
