The Port Arthur Public Library now has a new device to assist patrons with low vision. The full-color, auto-focus magnifier projects text and images from books, magazines, photographs, bills, etc. onto a large screen; different color combinations provide improved viewing. A smooth platform below the camera allows users to easily move the page as needed. Assistant Director, Jenniffer Hudson Connors says “We look for ways to serve all of our community, and this is one example. Our staff are available and happy to help patrons with the equipment.” This new device replaces one lost in the flood of 2017.

The Library is open seven days a week: Monday - Thursday 9 am - 9 pm; Friday 9 am - 6 pm, Saturday 9 am – 5 pm , and on Sunday afternoons from 1 pm - 5 pm.
