The accomplishment of Health Department employee, Fernando Mejia, extends what the city's Health Department is able to add to the services of the Women, Infant, and Children's (WIC) Division. Fernando was accepted in the 9-month WIC Dietetic Internship Program in 2018. He was one of six student interns that graduated from this program August 9, 2019, in Austin. Mr. Mejia is eligible and will take the exam to be become a Registered Dietitian in February 2020. The Directors and staff are very proud of this accomplishment for Mr. Mejia and wish him the best while he is preparing for the state exam. Congratulations go out to Fernando Mejia!
