The Grants Management office, along with the Southeast Texas Coalition for the Homeless (SETCH) is preparing for the next homeless count on January 23, 2020. A training session has been scheduled for January 8, 2020 on the fifth (5th) floor of the Port Arthur City Hall building from 2:00 p.m. – 3:30 p.m. for all interested volunteers. The Point-in-Time (PIT) count is a count of sheltered and unsheltered homeless persons on a single night in January.

Participation requires that volunteers receive training before participating in this community effort, and training is available online at Point-in-Time (PIT) Count Standards and Methodologies Training. Contact Janeal White, SETCH Coordinator, at (409) 791-4613 for other session dates and times. Please feel free to contact the Port Arthur Grants Administrator at 409-983-8251 for questions about participation.
