On 12/1/17 at approximately 6:12 pm officers were flagged down in reference to an auto-pedestrian accident that occurred in the 4400 block of Gulfway Drive. Officers called for EMS after finding the victim had serious injuries. The victim, Daniel Jones, a 53 year old male black, was transported to St. Mary’s Hospital. It was determined the victim was walking across Gulfway Dr.  The driver of the vehicle did not see the pedestrian due to low light and the pedestrian’s dark clothing. The victim was pronounced deceased at the hospital. The driver of the vehicle was not injured. This incident is currently under investigation by the CID of the PAPD.
