[ARCHIVED] UPDATE Voluntary Water Conservation Request

The City of Port Arthur receives its water from the Lower Neches River Valley Authority, and due to an above average number of large water main breaks in Port Arthur's system, pressure is temporarily reduced for our residents and businesses.

Citizens are encouraged to conserve water through the evening in an effort to slow water loss throughout the City. Through voluntary compliance mandatory restrictions can be delayed and possibly avoided. The issue is expected to be resolved early Friday. We will notify residents if circumstances change or if mandatory conservation measures are required.

Water Conservation Tips:
•Check visible faucets, pipes and toilets for leaks - turn these off at the source (wall)
•Take shorter showers or postpone them until Friday morning, if possible
•Turn of water while brushing your teeth or shaving
•Wait to wash dishes until water pressure returns
