RE : Texas Community Development Block Grant Mitigation (CDBG - MIT) Program – Downtown Drainage Revitalization Project
The City of Port Arthur anticipates applying for funding in the amount of ninety seven million ($97,000,000) provided by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) through HUD’s newly created Community Development Block Grant – Mitigation (CDBG-MIT) program. This funding is designed to address mitigation needs to ensure that the state of Texas is more resilient to future natural disasters. The Texas General Land Office (GLO) is the lead agency and responsible entity for administering the CDBG-MIT funds allocated to the state.
The proposed project Port Arthur intends to apply in this competition is for drainage infrastructure revitalization/Improvements in the entire downtown area to a 25-year storm level of protection. This will be a multi-phase, multi-year project. The following activities are included in this project :
