Please read the following report from the Port Arthur and Jefferson County Health Departments regarding the reports of positive COVID-19 cases in Port Arthur and Mid County, Texas, as of November 18, 2020. The City of Port Arthur and Jefferson County Health Departments are reporting an uptick in the positive cases for the City of Port Arthur and Mid County cities as submitted for the past week. Due to the increase in the number of positive cases, 7 counties and 2 cities met on the steps of the Jefferson County Courthouse to inform all citizens of the dangers and spread of this harmful COVID-19 disease. Read the summary below. 

NOTICE FROM THE CITY OF PORT ARTHUR HEALTH DEPARTMENT

Today, November 18, 2020, the City of Port Arthur and Jefferson County Health Departments are reporting additional COVID-19 positive individuals for Port Arthur, Groves, Port Neches and Nederland.  There are confirmations of twenty-two (22) for Port Arthur; four (4) for Groves; twenty (20) for  Nederland; and six (6) for Port Neches.

Joint Press Conference for Chambers, Hardin, Jasper, Jefferson, Newton, Orange and Tyler Counties, along with City of Beaumont and City of Port Arthur Public Health Officials

 

 

NOTICE OF JOINT PRESS CONFERENCE BY SETX PUBLIC HEALTH OFFICIALS:

 

Public Health Officials from throughout SETX will hold a joint press conference on Wednesday, November 18, 2020 at 11:00AM on the front steps of the Jefferson County Courthouse, 1149 Pearl Street, Beaumont, Texas.

 

Health Directors from 7 Counties and 2 Cities in Southeast Texas are collaborating on a Public Service Announcement to disseminate area wide ahead of the Thanksgiving Holidays in order to educate the public on Celebrating Thanksgiving Safely During COVID-19. They will release their PSA and speak with the media about this on Wednesday, and other Public Officials will attend to support them in getting this important message out.

 

Chambers, Hardin, Jasper, Jefferson, Newton, Orange and Tyler Counties, along with City of Beaumont and City of Port Arthur Public Health Officials are participating together in this effort.
