The City Secretary is the official secretary of the Mayor and City Council. She records the minutes of all City Council meetings, countersigns all checks issued by the Finance Director and orders departmental audits when necessary. The City Secretary appoints the Municipal Court Clerk and Municipal Court Deputies, subject to City Council confirmation, and in coordination with the City Manager, supervises and coordinates the functions of the Municipal Court. In addition, the City Secretary conducts all municipal elections and administers the records management program.
